Two Theft Arrests in Cobourg

Two theft arrests were made in Cobourg last week.
A 30-year-old Whitby man is facing theft charges after an investigation into merchandise stolen from a business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg this past March.
Police say, in March, the suspect left the store without paying. After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified a suspect and issued a warrant.
He was arrested last Thursday and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with probation.
He was released on an undertaking, and will appear in court at a later date.
A 52-year-old man has been charged following a shoplifting report from a business near King and Spring Streets in Cobourg.
Police allege the man took merchandise and left without paying. He was located nearby and arrested last Friday.
He is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was released on an undertaking, and will appear in court at a later date.
