Police searching for serious assault suspect in Campbellford

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect in connection to a serious assault in Campbellford that took place early Wednesday morning.

Northumberland OPP allege the incident happened at a multi-unit residence on Front Street South, and the suspect and victim are known to each other. 

The victim was seriously injured during the altercation and was later taken to hospital by Emergency Services. 

The suspect was not present when police arrived.

The scene was held for forensic identification, and the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit is now leading the investigation.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts or the incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, referencing the occurrence number E250905219.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, with the possibility of a cash reward.
