Police say officers responded to a report of a serious assault on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Trevor Street and Trailsview Avenue.

The man is alleged to have attacked a victim with a rolling pin while attempting to steal money.

When others intervened, police say the suspect pulled a kitchen knife and threatened three additional people.

He is held in custody for a bail hearing.
