Brighton to build new long-term care home

Construction is now underway for a new 256-bed long-term care home in Brighton. Located at Smith Road and Georgina Street, the $100,000 million new Maplewood Home will combine three local facilities.

The five-storey building will have four levels of two resident home areas per floor, including dining and activity areas and lounges along with balconies for the bedrooms. Offerings of an outdoor amenity area, multipurpose room, bistro and hair salon.

“This project represents more than just bricks and mortar, its a commitment to compassionate care, community growth and the wellbeing of our residents,” said Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander.

Residents to the new Maplewood home are expected to move in during the summer of 2027.
