With summer officially here, Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the return of Lemon-Aid for NHH, inviting the young (and young-at-heart) to participate in an old tradition with a twist.
First introduced in 2022, Lemon-Aid is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to sign up to host a lemonade stand any time through the end of August, with proceeds donated to the foundation. This popular initiative has raised more than $15,500 in support of NHH since its inception.
“The Lemon-Aid event continue to be a well-loved event by many,” Foundation Chief Executive Officer Rhonda Cunningham said in the announcement.
“Our hearts have been warmed to see those around our community excited about their upcoming stands and about giving back to our hospital. For some – including may children and relatives of those on the NHH team – this had now become a summer tradition.”
Davis's Your Independent Grocery in Port Hope is once again sponsoring the event and, upon registration, participants will receive kits to help them get started. All ages are welcome to plan stands of their own, and the Foundation hopes to see both new and returning hosts on board this year.
Anyone interested can contact Communications and Special Events Co-ordinator Katie Ito at kito@nhh.ca or 905-372-6811 ext. 3065 to sign up and pick up a kit.
Locations of the stands will be shared throughout the summer on the foundation's website and social-media channels. Funds raised through Lemon-Aid will be totaled at summer's end and the total will be announced.
Visit www.NHHFoundation.ca for more information on how to register to participate and to find a list of upcoming Lemon-Aid stands to visit throughout the summer.
