Port Hope Police are warning of distraction thefts at local businesses.

Authorities allege that on May 16, June 7, suspects would use diversion tactics in the cosmetics section, while accomplices steal merchandise.

Police say the incidents appear to involve coordinated groups, and urge shoppers to watch their belongings and encourage staff to remain alert for suspicious activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
