Opponents of Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland are calling for his resignation over a June statement in which Cleveland called the homeless shelter a failure of public policy and that the general public are no longer going to accept the criminality, chaos, and unaccountability.

A protest was held at Victoria Hall last week, where community activist Theresa Rickerby stated that Cleveland needs to be accountable for his language and actions.
