The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is celebrating a successful kick-off to the summer season, with their traditional Wine & Ale in the Park event announcing its highest total ever – more than $42,000 raised in support of the hospital.
Guests at the June 26 event arrived at Cobourg's Victoria Park ready to sample food and drinks from 11 local vendors (both returning and new), and the foundation is grateful for their support.
“The success of this event is a true reflection of the generosity and spirit of our community,” Events Specialist Courtney Ker said in the announcement.
“We're deeply grateful for the incredible partnerships that make this possible, from our sponsors and vendors to every person who showed up to support.”
Foundation Chief Executive Officer Rhonda Cunningham said this year's event had an added extra surprise.
“It was an honour to recognize Tony Pulla with a 'Doctor of Philanthropy' in celebration of his outstanding commitment not only as our Signature Sponsor for a decade, but for his unwavering support for more than 20 years,” Cunningham said.
“We're proud to be part of a community that continually shows up for our hospital.”
Ker added “a heartfelt thank-you to the Lions Club of Cobourg for once again generously providing the use of their tent, free of charge.
“Beyond offering their tent, the Lions went above and beyond, volunteering their time throughout the evening to help with set-up, clean-up and even serving as our beverage team. We're incredibly grateful for their continued support and community spirit.”
In addition to presenting sponsor Pulla, Sydney Fairman and Trenholm Parker of the Sydney Fairman Group returned as the evening's exclusive beverage sponsor. Elliott Insurance Services, Quantrill Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, Nikolovsky Wealth Management-BMO Private Wealth, Assante Wealth Management, LeBlanc Enterprises, Stadke Plumbing and Heating, and Milner Financial supported the event's success as station sponsors. And Defined Design joined as the Mocktail sponsor for this year's event.
