10 distracted drivers and 4 DUI’s in Cobourg in May

Cobourg Police said four people were charged with impaired driving last month.

The May Selective Traffic Enforcement Program focused on road safety, as May 13-19 was National Road Safety Week.

Statistics released by Cobourg Police indicated that ten people were charged with distracted driving, while another five received a summons for careless driving.

Officers focused on high-risk driving behaviors, engaging with more than 200 people during their seatbelt checkstop campaign.
