A 31-year-old Cobourg woman is facing various drug trafficking charges after being spotted by police with open alcohol near George Street and Havelock Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they observed two individuals with open liquor, and investigated under the Liquor Licence Control Act.

One was released with a provincial offence notice, however, the other was found with several controlled substances, including fentanyl, crack cocaine, crystal meth, and cocaine as well as over $700 in cash.

The woman was charged with having open liquor in an unauthorized place, four counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking, possession of crime proceeds, and failing to comply with a probation order.

She is held in custody pending a bail hearing.
