County launches 310 Division St. survey
Northumberland County announces a new monthly on-line survey to gather feedback from Cobourg businesses located within 500 metres of its shelter at 310 Division St. - the Business Pulse Survey, which launches its first survey period May 5 to 11.
The aim is a better understanding of the impact shelter services have on the business sector and to assess measures to support both community well-being and local economic vitality.
Survey results will be reported monthly at county council's Social Services Standing Committee meeting, with the May report shared at the June 4 meeting (meeting agendas and reports can be found on the county website four business days begore the meeting date).
Thereafter, during the first week of each month, new surveys will be posted. Businesses operating within the 500-metre radius are encouraged to sign up with an e-mail address to receive monthly survey reminders.
“County council and staff are committed to supporting the local business community, while addressing homelessness compassionately and effectively,” the announcement said.
“Your on-going feedback will inform council decision making – identifying trends, guiding adjustments, improving outcomes and strengthening neighbourhood well-being.”
The first survey will be available May 5 at Northumberland.ca/310BusinessSurvey and will be live for one week. The second survey will take place June 2 to 8 and, thereafter, the first week of each month.
In addition to its press release, the county is spreading the word through eNewsletter distribution, communication through partner organizations, targeted social media to businesses within the survey area and a targeted direct-mail postcard to businesses within the survey area.
Business owners and operators are strongly encouraged to participate.
