Standoff in Cramahe ends peacefully

Northumberland OPP say a nearly 8-hour standoff in Cramahe Township this week has ended with no injuries.

Police were called to a home on Monday at approximately 6 PM for a person experiencing a crisis and in possession of a firearm.

Crisis negotiators, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were dispatched.

At approximately 1:40 Tuesday morning, the 52-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

He is charged with firearms offenses and was held for a bail hearing.
